OUR STORY
Built from experience. Driven by growth.
IBE Fitness & Martial Arts grew from years of training, teaching, and competing across multiple martial arts disciplines.
Our foundation is rooted in Filipino Martial Arts and Kajukenbo, with experience in striking, kickboxing, MMA, weapons training, and combat sports helping shape the way we approach training today.
Rather than treating each discipline as something completely separate, IBE was created to give students opportunities to develop across martial arts, practical application, fitness, and competition while still respecting the traditions and identities of the arts we teach.
The name IBE represents the philosophy behind everything we do:
IMPROVE
Continue developing your skills, knowledge, and abilities.
BUILD
Build a stronger foundation—physically, mentally, and technically.
EVOLVE
Take what you’ve learned, continue adapting, and become a better version of yourself.
MEET THE INSTRUCTOR
Experience. Tradition. Continued growth.
Mike Ibe began training in Filipino Martial Arts in 2006 with the Filipino Martial Arts Academy under GM Leonilo ‘Nilo’ Baron and expanded his martial arts journey into Kajukenbo with Paphavasit Self-Defense under Sifu Ken Paphavasit.
Over the years, his training developed into a broader approach to martial arts—one that respects traditional systems while also emphasizing practical application, physical conditioning, pressure testing, and continued development.
As an instructor, the goal is not simply to teach students techniques. It is to help them understand movement, timing, distance, adaptability, and the principles behind what they are learning so their skills can continue to develop as they progress.
That philosophy became the foundation of IBE Fitness & Martial Arts:
IMPROVE YOUR SKILLS.
BUILD YOUR FOUNDATION.
EVOLVE THROUGH TRAINING.
